Many seasonal workers in Italy come from faraway places, including countries at war, like Mali, and regions experiencing economic difficulties, like sub-Saharan Africa.

They’re faded and worn out, but they get the job done. The bicycle is the symbol of seasonal workers in the fields of Saluzzo and Syracuse, their only means of moving from the city to the fields, and vice versa.

Whether they eat in the fields or in a one-room apartment, dinner, for seasonal workers, is a moment of rest. For a few hours, everything seems nearly normal.
